What to choose?

'The weather' one could be one where I think I could do a good job with it. The reason why is because I could take photos of the condensation on windows because this is showing a sense of the weather through a window. I could also get a picture of somewhere, then go back to it a few months later then take another photo. Then I could stick the 2 images together on a mount board. This one is a possibility.

'Sportspeople' in my opinion is a closed idea. The only thing I could come out with it is action photos of athletes. Freezing the motion. So this option is 50/50, however I'm going on a sports photography course with Mark Pain. It is on the 8th of February. On that day, I will be learning from Mark Pain. This photographer was twice voted sports photographer of the year and he was voted London 2012 Olympic photographer of the year. During his session I will be learning about using aperture and shutter speed to get good sports photos. So despite the closed idea of the theme. I could learn loads from him. Not only in taking pictures but also in how to edit them down to a good professional standard. The only problem with this idea is that you have to take your chances with the photos. The only problem with this idea is that you have to take your chances with the photos. This is because sports only comes around once, if you miss a certain action, you might of missed the chance to get that particular photo. Also you need investment in lens. You will need a telephoto lens to capture sports photography. You also need a lens with a low f. number. 3.5 is okay, 2 will be better. However you also need to understand how to use it. Luckily my 70-300mm telephotos lens is fine for Sports photography because it has an f. number as low as 3.5. This should also get me some photos with a good depth of field.

'Evidence' is a unit where I think I could get a lot out of it, this is because I could photograph anything that has been dropped. Crisp packets, drink cans etc. Basically anything that I find on the floor that has been littered. I could even photograph tyres marks on the road or on a country track because this shows 'evidence' of a car has been here. Footsteps in the floor, on a rainy day I could photograph footmarks on the floor left by the puddles. So I think this could be the most likely option that I pick.

'Photomontage' is similar to multiple images that I did during GCSE photography. I believe that I can actually get a really good idea with this. This idea would involve a wide range photoshop. For example merging images together. I could possibly use the green screen in the broadcasting studio to photograph subject in there. Then I could change the background in Photoshop because it will be shot on green screen.

'Creative use of light' is probably the most open theme available in this exam. This is becuase light is important in every single photo. For this unit I could use a projector, I could change the shutter speed or the ISO. I can darken an image in photoshop. I can photograph bright objects in the dark, I can take photos of shadows on streets, shadows coming through my window. To be honest the list of thing I could do for this unit is endless. To be honest I could just take a normal image of someone, then I could darken the surrounding area of them because this would show me playing around with the brightness in Photoshop. I could use the photography studio at school. I can use the 3 point lighting in the broadcasting studio.
