The first thing I did was, collect photos that Peter Fraser has taken on Pinterest. Some of the photos were like Macro photography. Where you get really close up. Fraser also took photos where there is a depth of field which was created by him getting down low on the floor. He took photos by getting really close to the subject, he took photos closer than most people would. For example with the photo underneath my Pinterest board link. He went into macro detail of the rocks, whereas other people would just take zoomed out images.
Out of all the photos that I have seen from Peter Fraser, this is possibly my favourite photo. One reason why I like this photo is the depth of field, that has been created by being low down on the floor. A second thing I like about this image is the colour tone of the image. There is a set of tones from a beige/yellow colour. This is another aspect of this image that I like. Also this is an aspect of the image, that I can achieve using my camera filters. Another thing I like about this image is how the focus of the image, is split diagonally through the upper 1/3 of the image. The focus nearly goes in a straight line, which usually occurs by chance. It isn't really intended when it occurs.
For my H/W I'm going to try to take 30 photos based on this image. What the photos are of though, it was I don't know yet. I might take photos like this with grass, where the foreground [grass] |
Other Macro photographers
Another photo based around Macro photography that could help with this H/W is Man Ray.
This photo in my opinion is an illusion. The reason why is because it is hard to tell whether this is zoomed in, or zoomed out. This looks like a runway or road. However at the same time, it looks like a Macro photo. This photo does look like a sky view shot of a town in a desert. That is one thing I like about this image. Another thing I like about this image is that it is Black and White. Despite the fact you can tell the image is of sand. The B&W still makes us think, maybe it isn't a photo of sand. |
Below are the images that I took for the H/W. As I said the idea was me getting close to subject. As a result there is a good depth of field around the subject. Some of these pictures were taken with a telephoto lens and some photos were taken with a normal 18-55mm lens. Some of these photos were debilitate and some were taken by luck. The ones that were taken by the luck was the low angle. The reason why these photos were taken by luck is because I very simply put the camera on the floor, didn't look through the viewfinder, I just clicked the shutter button. Some of the photos that were taken like this came out really good.
How could these photos be made into a final piece?
These photos could be used for my 2nd idea on my 'Next final piece idea'. I could put the best images on a 'multiples' display strategy. I could also call the final piece something 'Close up in Sutcliffe park'.
I could also display these pictures with the first idea on the same page. Have a map of Sutcliffe park, have string going to where I took the specific image. Once again call it 'Close ups in Sutcliffe park'
